Ultimate Reef Tracker
Privacy policy
Effective August 21, 2026. A plain-language explanation of how the TealWire Android app handles your aquarium information.
Account information
A TealWire reef account uses Firebase Authentication. Firebase processes your email address, password credential, and account identifier for account creation, sign-in, email verification, password reset, and account security. TealWire does not receive or store your readable password.
Reef records and cloud sync
Aquarium names and profiles, water-test results, livestock and equipment records, notes, dates, costs, alert targets, and an optional camera-stream URL are stored in a local SQLite database and synchronized to a private Cloud Firestore backup under your Firebase account identifier so you can use more than one device.
Photos and device sync
Selected photos are copied into app-managed storage on your Android device. When you are signed in, the app uploads those photos to private Firebase Storage under your account identifier and can download them to your other signed-in Android devices.
Network connections
Internet access is used for Firebase sign-in, structured-data synchronization, and photo synchronization. It is also used for features you choose, including aquarium-camera streams, external livestock reference links, and video playback. Network providers and destinations have their own privacy practices.
Sharing and export
The app exports CSV data only when you request it and choose an Android sharing destination. Camera streams and external links connect directly from your device to the service or address you select. Those destinations have their own privacy practices.
Retention and deletion
Settings includes Delete account. After current-password verification, the app requests deletion of your Firebase sign-in account, current Cloud Firestore backup, and cloud photo files in Firebase Storage. Local SQLite records and app-managed photos remain on each device until you clear app storage or uninstall. CSV exports do not package original photos.
No ads or data sale
The current release contains no advertising SDK or analytics SDK. TealWire does not sell your account information, reef records, or photos. Firebase acts as a service provider for authentication, private structured-data storage, and private photo storage.
Children
Ultimate Reef Tracker is a general aquarium-management tool and is not directed to children under 13. TealWire does not knowingly collect children’s personal information through the app.
Policy updates and support
This policy may be updated when app features change. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date. For assistance, use the support information shown on the app’s Google Play listing or visit the TealWire support page.
